Valentine's Day DIY Exchange Cards for Kids

Yesterday LO's teacher sent a note that the children can pass out Valentine cards at the classroom!!๐Ÿ’ So immediately me and LO didn't set to work!๐Ÿ’— We had a good long nap ๐Ÿ’คafter a heavy lunch. After LO woke up he was pestering me to accompany him for the play. So I thought let me occupy LO by doing the Valentine cards for his friends. Evening when we started we didn't have much time, so I planned to make simple cards, with construction paper.

Teacher's note read 13 girls and 6 boys! So I have to make 13+5 cards, before we go to bed! LO wanted to help me, but I didn't have much time to instruct and get help from him. So I asked him to just sign the cards, by writing his name on!!๐Ÿ˜ He got so excited in doing so!!๐Ÿ’• Took roughly half an hour to browse for the ideas and then set to work. I planned like red color for girls and lavender for boys. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’œ

Room 6 Little Ones

LO wanted to write down his pre-school classmate's name on a paper and we did. Then he wanted me to put the paper on the wall๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜€. So I thought I would make one more as a fair copy for the purpose! Initially I didn't have any idea as how to take it, and after writing some couple of names, I thought, let me try calligraphy with the markers!!!๐Ÿ˜ฒ Weird idea though!! LO was very co-operative and patient while I was fulfilling all my silly desires!๐Ÿ˜œ He didn't forget to include his teachers' names. And finally LO decorated with stickers!

Think of similar kind which you can do with your Little Ones, that would make them happy!!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Alphabet DIY activity for Kids

The Book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin was an inspiration for this activity. We borrowed this book from library long back, may be when LO was in his second year. From then on we love the book completely, because of its illustration and each page is filled with colorful alphabets and musical text. A must read book for your toddler kid.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Alphabet Activity

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ABC, which is a board book and a shorter version of the longer book is also available.

Let's get into action! We used paper towel tube and foam alphabets primarily for this activity. If you have magnetic alphabets you can use a cylindrical tin wrapped with brown paper in the place of the paper towel tube.

I would say this, no preparation activity, just grab the materials and start sticking the alphabets on the tree trunk! LO helped me in sticking the alphabets on the trunk.

Cut the leaves from a green construction paper and make few slits.

Insert them on the top opening of the tube and is all set for the play!!

Undersea Collage - DIY activity for Pre Schoolers

Last summer, when we went to beach, me and LO collected some shells, and it had been staying ideal for all these days. I wanted to do some activity with those shells but didn't know what to do exactly. Had few blur ideas, but nothing was worth enough to do with a preschooler. So one evening I lost all patience, can't see the shells sitting idle, so I thought lets give some color to the shells, for a start. That evening went colorfully, with me and LO trying our hands at painting the shells. We let them dry and dry and dry....๐Ÿ˜ A week passed, and again I wanted to do something with those colored shells, and finally ended up with this simple Undersea collage activity!!๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŸ

Initially I didn't plan much, we just started with making the fish collage with the papers๐ŸŸ

Added Googly eyes for additional effect..

Used the pipe cleaners for the water plants..

And finally the shells...!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

We had so much fun in making this Undersea activity. Hope you would love this idea..!

Creative play with Play Dough - Part 5 - DIY activity for Kids

When Me and LO set out to play with Play Dough, we didn't plan anything specific, but we ended up in making animals, this time. I have discussed enough about Play Dough, and I don't have much to write in this post. We just enjoyed playing with the dough, and LO was trying to make shapes with the dough on his own.

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

We made a Dragon fly and extrapolated it to a butterfly.

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

LO helped me in making those elongated shapes.

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

We made sea Turtle and LO didn't miss out to make eyes with the pen tip!!

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

And the Octopus with Googly eyes...

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

We extrapolated the Octopus to Spider, since both has "eight " in common!๐Ÿ˜€

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

LO insisted the spider to build a web, and I helped the spider in making the instant web with the sketch!๐Ÿ˜œ

Creative Play Dough for Toddlers

We tried snowman, a girl, mushroom and helicopter!!

It was fun for both LO and ME!!!!!๐Ÿ˜

It's time to Introduce Planets and Space for Pre-Schoolers!

Last weekend we did a simple Solar System activity, with what we had already. I thought its right time to introduce Space concepts to LO. We got these planet stickers as a return gift from our friend's Space themed party. I had these stickers preserved for almost a year now, to give LO at the right time!! So it means I had been planning for this activity for ages!... ๐Ÿ˜€

And about this activity, LO already has little exposure to planets and their names after watching (several times!!) this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbei3VZjZ48
So he was comfortable with the names of the planets, and I was trying to tell him the order of the planets and the orbit concept. It was bit difficult for him to understand the concept, that the planets revolve around the sun and about the galaxy๐ŸŒŒ!!! Silly me! ๐Ÿ˜›I know its too much for his age.. ๐Ÿ˜†

On a black paper I drew the elliptical orbits and before I completed it, LO lost all patience๐Ÿ˜

The strip which we had, had exactly 10 circle shaped stickers. So we decided to have one for the sun๐ŸŒ• and rest for the planets. I thought to pick the stickers based on the planet's color and size,  and somehow we managed to stick to it.๐ŸŒ

I discussed with LO that Jupiter is the largest, Saturn has rings, Mars - the red planet, and Pluto the Dwarf planet๐Ÿ˜Š

I also browsed about the size of planets and noted on a paper.

And a Space shuttle being launched from Earth.๐Ÿš€

We named the planets and added stars to the space๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

LO was enthralled to see his work and we enjoyed by displaying it on the wall. ๐ŸŽ‰
